Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Data Migration Business Analyst to support public sector transformation initiatives. This role is ideal for fresh graduates or candidates with up to 3 years of experience in data, development, or information systems.
You will work within a Data Migration team alongside business users, functional consultants, and technical teams to support end-to-end migration from legacy systems. The role offers hands-on exposure to data analysis, requirements gathering, and testing under the guidance of a Data Migration Lead.
1. Requirements Gathering & Workshops
- Support workshops with business users to:
- Document legacy data, screens, and reports
- Identify data cleansing needs
- Define data mappings (As-Is to To-Be)
- Capture transformation rules and business logic
- Clarify requirements and maintain proper documentation and traceability
2. Functional Collaboration
- Work with Functional Consultants to:
- Support data field mapping and validation
- Assist in defining migration approaches
- Support UAT activities:
- Prepare test scenarios and datasets
- Track defects and follow up on resolutions
3. Data Migration Support
- Perform data profiling and basic analysis
- Identify data quality issues (missing, inconsistent, duplicates)
- Assist in defining cleansing rules and transformation logic
- Support testing and validation of migration scripts and outputs
4. Documentation
- Prepare and maintain:
- Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM)
- Data cleansing and transformation specifications
- Workshop notes and requirements
- Ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with standards
5. Data Validation & Testing
- Support data validation and reconciliation checks
- Track and resolve defects during testing
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of migrated data
Job Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field
- Fresh graduates or up to 3 years’ experience in:
- Data migration, data analysis, or software development
- Business analysis in IT projects
Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of:
- Data migration concepts (ETL, mapping, cleansing, transformation)
- Databases and SQL
- Exposure to tools such as Excel, SQL, or ETL tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory is a plus)
- Ability to analyze and interpret datasets
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good documentation and organization skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Proactive team player with willingness to learn
Desirable
- Knowledge of Salesforce data migration and Azure tools (ADF, Databricks, Airflow)
- Familiarity with data migration practices (mapping, cleansing, masking, reconciliation)
- Understanding of public sector processes
