ING in Asia Pacific
In Asia Pacific, ING offers wholesale banking across 13 markets: Australia, China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Singapore serves as the regional headquarters for ING’s Wholesale Banking (WB) business in Asia and includes all WB business lines such as Financial Markets, Sectors, Lending, Capital Markets & Advisory, Transaction Services, and other support functions.
Financial Institutions Team
ING’s Financial Institutions (FI) sector combines relationship management, multi-product sales, and structured lending for Bank and Non-bank Financial Institutions (NBFI). NBFI clients include sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, pension funds, securities companies, and asset managers.
Role and Responsibilities
- Work closely with the FI Coverage and all product sales teams.
- Assist with origination efforts including briefing memos, client mapping, research, and pitch presentations.
- Assist with portfolio management including customer due diligence, transaction management, and client monitoring.
- Prepare communication for internal stakeholders including account plans, pipeline tracking, transaction status, and other portfolio updates.
- Monitor information and news services on the client base and share client/sector developments with the team.
- Support the product team with ad hoc duties.
- Assist in compiling data, pricing grid updates, and portfolio analysis.
Qualifications & Requirements
Qualification:
- 2nd to final year undergraduate with a demonstrated interest in banking and finance.
Skills & Competencies
- Basic understanding of how a wholesale bank operates and its business model.
- Ability to work within deadlines with limited supervision and a high level of initiative.
- Willingness to learn and contribute meaningfully to the team and the bank as a whole.
- Ability to communicate clearly with fluent spoken and written English.
- Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Internship Details
