Dedicated Lending Safe Act

The Dedicated Lending SAFE Act is an entry-level position responsible for contributing to the formulation and implementation of long- and short-term strategic plans and objectives to increase market share/penetration and maximize opportunities for growth throughout the marketplace. The Dedicated Lending SAFE Act assists in providing product specialists with qualified referrals for cross-sell. Employees in this role also assist in closing deals across products and coordinate underwriting/credit practices.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver mortgage lending services to clients in consultation with assigned Home Lending Officer(s) in all aspects of the loan application process, including collecting borrower information, advising on mortgage options, quoting rates/terms from the system, and addressing follow-ups on the application/mortgage processing.
  • Gather information from clients and third-party sources (such as title companies and real estate agents) and apply judgment to determine items needed to submit files to underwriting for approval.
  • Monitor the application pipeline to ensure key dates (consent, lock, lock expiration, anticipated closing dates) are met and communicate requirements and timelines to clients.
  • Manage the marketing process for the Home Lending Officer supported, including marketing material management and follow-up on prospective customer leads as needed, participating in open houses, realtor events, and training events.
  • Partner with Operations teams to ensure seamless transfer of the loan application, provide documents to processors, and obtain any additional information needed by processors and/or underwriters.
  • Manage customer inquiries and build/maintain relationships with the client book of business.
  • Assess risk when business decisions are made, focusing on the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients, and assets by complying with applicable laws, rules, and regulations; adhering to policy; applying ethical judgment; and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in Mortgage/Loan Origination
  • Banking experience preferred
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • This position requires registration as a mortgage loan originator with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (Registry) and obtaining a unique identifier from the Registry before engaging in mortgage loan originator activities; maintain and renew registration annually; update Registry information promptly; and provide the unique identifier to consumers as required by applicable SAFE Act regulations and Citi policies and procedures.

Education

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or High School diploma/equivalent with at least 2 years of relevant Loan Origination experience

Competencies

  • Expert knowledge of general lending products and services and pricing alternatives in the industry.
  • Ability to comprehend and explain financial calculations and pricing alternatives.
  • Strong communication skills with customers about required documents and information to obtain a loan.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations governing consumer lending, including fair lending, privacy, and RESPA.
  • Self-starters who can work independently or with established partnerships, with a proven track record.
  • Ability to work as part of a team to grow the assigned branch/branches or community organization.

Salary

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range: $72,000.00 - $105,000.00
