What you can expect

Jefferies Investment Banking Interns gain insight into a global, client-focused investment bank and experience an entrepreneurial environment where they can make an immediate impact and are rewarded for performance. Interns are exposed to Jefferies’ full range of top-tier investment banking products and industry expertise by working closely with senior bankers on pitches and live deals. A lean deal team structure provides hands-on experience and opportunities to build lasting professional relationships with peers and senior bankers. In addition to conducting fundamental analysis and research into companies and markets, interns are encouraged to think creatively, contribute ideas, and add value from day one. Interns are expected to pursue projects with excellence, collaboration, and the highest levels of integrity.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial valuation, discounted cash flow, and multiples-based analyses
• Build and use financial models
• Prepare pitchbooks and live deal materials, such as offering memoranda and prospectuses
• Conduct industry and product research
• Analyze detailed corporate and financial information
• Participate in the execution of financings and M&A transactions

What we look for in a candidate

• Ambition to make an impact through real, hands-on work on active deal teams
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Professionalism, client management skills, and strong technical, written, and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines; adaptability and both independent and collaborative work style
• For candidates applying to the London office, fluency in English is required
• Previous experience in corporate finance is preferred
