Position Overview

As a Buyer, you’ll be responsible for purchasing the materials, supplies, machinery, and services that equip our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. You’ll collaborate across teams and showcase your organization and strategic planning skills to monitor inventory, manage delivery scheduling, negotiate with suppliers, and procure essential items that transform possibilities into realities for our customers and teams.

Role Responsibilities

• Ensure supply continuity to enable manufacturing with speed and quality. Follow up on orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records. Adhere to standard purchasing business processes.
• Proactively drive and ensure timely delivery/shipment of parts from suppliers to Applied factories, including resolution of shipment/receiving and billing issues with suppliers.
• Partner with suppliers on demand/supply collaboration. Execute and manage pull-ins/push-outs with suppliers to meet MRP demand.
• Drive inventory and excess and obsolescence reduction efforts.
• Negotiate and execute purchase orders and RFQs to drive the lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability of source, and urgency of need.
• Drive problem resolution for supply issues with key stakeholders (engineering, manufacturing, Program Management) with support from Managers.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 1-2 years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications

• A solid understanding of the industry’s key business drivers
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to explain complex information to others
