This internship offers the opportunity to develop in C++ and/or Python while deepening your understanding of computer architecture and embedded systems.

Description

As an intern in the System-on-Chip (SoC) Performance Modelling Team, you will collaborate with platform architects to build C++ simulations for Apple’s next iPhone/iPad/Mac chips. You will contribute to the model and help analyze new wireless (5G) solutions and related applications to help deliver best-in-class products. We are seeking a student who is passionate about C++ and/or Python and has a solid understanding of computer architecture or complex embedded systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain C++ (and/or Python) simulations of SoC components and systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to model performance characteristics and power/thermal impacts.
  • Analyze new wireless (5G) solutions and related applications, such as augmented reality.
  • Document models, methodologies, and results; communicate findings to broader teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
  • Enrollment for the full duration of the internship (6 months or longer).
  • Strong programming knowledge in C++ and/or Python.
  • Coursework and understanding of computer architecture and the hardware/software stack.
  • Knowledge in AI and MCP.
  • Good understanding of embedded systems.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to fluently speak and write in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Creativity and curiosity about how things work beyond the classroom.
  • Examples of substantial hardware or software projects completed.
  • Ability to study a problem in depth, independently design experiments, analyze data, and present results in wider forums.
