The programmes
Plaid's main early-career route is a software-engineering internship that embeds each intern inside an engineering team rather than in a separate cohort track.
Interns begin with a short starter project (roughly two to three weeks) and then own a larger capstone that ships to production before the summer ends; Plaid's own engineering blog describes past interns completing projects end to end and seeing them used across the company within days. The program runs out of Plaid's San Francisco and New York offices and looks for students in computer science or a related technical field who can point to real projects they have already built. Because it is a single annual summer intake routed through one external application platform rather than a rolling set of postings, it is a one-shot-per-year target – the work it rewards is demonstrable, shipped, self-directed projects at the moment you apply, not work you are still accumulating.
