Project Specialist, Research - Global Corporate, Life Sciences

GLG’s Corporate Research team supports companies in the technology, life sciences, and industrials sectors by providing the insights they need to make critical decisions related to market understanding, product development, marketing, and other market research initiatives. The team leverages quantitative and qualitative methods alongside deep industry consulting approaches to inform decisions in a timely and thorough manner.

About the Role

GLG is seeking a Project Specialist to join its Life Sciences Research Team. Reporting to a Research Director, the Project Specialist will work as a core member of a specialized team responsible for executing complex, custom market research projects for a dedicated group of life sciences clients.

This role focuses on managing the operational details of each engagement so that senior researchers can focus on strategy, client relationships, and insight development. Although primarily an execution role, the position requires sound judgment, independent problem-solving, and the ability to recognize when an issue should be escalated to a teammate or manager.

Responsibilities

• Project coordination: Own the day-to-day project workflow across internal teams and stakeholders by tracking timelines, managing tasks, and keeping all moving parts organized.
• Quality management: Conduct initial reviews of survey edits, deliverable revisions, and other project materials. Flag ambiguities or inconsistencies to senior teammates and, where possible, propose solutions.
• Client engagement: Participate in client calls and intake meetings, take detailed notes, track open questions, and identify anything that was not captured.
• Proposal and approach development: Lead feasibility checks, proposal drafts, and pricing activities under the direction of senior teammates.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with internal research, sales, and operations teams to keep projects on track and properly resourced.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• One to three years of market research, consulting, or related professional experience.
• A working understanding of the life sciences industry through education, prior work experience, or both. Candidates should have enough baseline familiarity with the sector to learn new topics without starting from scratch.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong data literacy and comfort working with and interpreting large datasets using Excel, SPSS, R, or similar tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational habits, and attention to detail.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, client-service environment alongside cross-functional teams.
• Client-facing experience, including managing client relationships or navigating difficult conversations. While this experience can be developed, it may enable candidates to ramp up faster and create more opportunities for growth within the role.

Compensation

GLG is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Actual compensation is based on several factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. Certain roles may also be eligible for incentive compensation.

Anticipated hiring base salary range: $86,000–$97,000 USD
