Job Summary

This position is responsible for handling, processing and monitoring allocated claims, primarily Healthcare (Medical Malpractice) Casualty and Professional Indemnity claims across APAC, in accordance with established standards, procedures and guidance to deliver excellent customer service.

Job Duties

• Register, review, reserve and pay claims reported by brokers and cedants.
• Investigate, evaluate and resolve assigned claims, including non-standard claims, within the designated personal authority level and in accordance with established standards, procedures and guidelines.
• Conduct proactive settlements through appropriate negotiation, including instructing and collaborating with counsel regarding litigation strategy and claim resolution.
• Manage customer and intermediary interactions efficiently, courteously and promptly to deliver high standards of customer satisfaction.
• Organize and engage suppliers to ensure that appropriate and timely services are provided to customers.
• Identify non-standard or complex claims and escalate them to the supervisor.
• Support more experienced colleagues in handling non-standard cases.
• Assist with the preparation of reports and analysis as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal and external policy requirements.
• Monitor and file reports on cases below the deductible.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as warranted, including ad hoc projects.

Essential Requirements

• Relevant academic qualifications; a law degree is preferred.
• Certificate of General Insurance (CGI) from the Singapore College of Insurance is a minimum requirement. Candidates who do not hold this qualification are expected to complete the examinations and obtain the CGI within the probationary period.
• Ability to apply planning, prioritization and organizational discipline when managing workloads.
• Sound judgment and analytical ability.
• Strong negotiation skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently under pressure.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-service-oriented attitude.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work with relevant PC applications.
