About Technology Unit

The Technology Unit at SGX is responsible for delivering and operating mission-critical trading, clearing, settlement, and market infrastructure systems, ensuring high levels of resilience, performance, security, and regulatory compliance. The unit drives technological innovation, operational excellence, and strategic transformation initiatives that enhance our market infrastructure capabilities and maintain our competitive edge in the global financial markets.

Position Overview

We are seeking a strategic and analytical Business Management Transformation intern to join our Technology Unit. This role will drive the shift from traditional project-based delivery to product-centric, outcome-driven ways of working, aligning business priorities, technology capabilities, and delivery execution to achieve faster time-to-market, improved customer outcomes, and sustained operational excellence. Joining a team that acts as a key partner to senior leadership, the intern will learn to lead strategic transformation initiatives, operating model redesign, and organizational change to strengthen SGX’s competitive position and long-term resilience.

Learning Objectives

• The intern will be part of one of our transformation initiatives focused on achieving digitalization, automation, process re-design, AI implementation, data-driven decision making, and UX/CX design.
• The intern will have the opportunity to research industry trends and emerging technologies to determine how new technologies can cater to current and future business needs.
• The intern can look forward to working alongside the CTO, Technology Heads, Business owners, and Project Managers to gain knowledge and exposure to market trends and business operations.

Job Description

• Drive or lead transformation initiatives; identify pain points in an existing process, conduct user interviews, design solutions to ensure value, and map out process flows and end-to-end UX.
• Provide support in the research and evaluation of industry trends and technology advancements.
• Assist in the preparation of technology management reports, presentations, and papers.
• Collaborate with various teams within the organization on strategic technology projects.
• Participate in decision-making discussions at the management level.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

• Strong problem solver and critical thinker.
• Demonstrates a "can-do" mindset.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of solving issues using an 80/20 approach.
• Meticulous and detail-oriented, especially when handling numbers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively between technical, operational, and business stakeholders.
• Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments with strong attention to detail.
• Bonus: Experience with data analytics tools and programming languages (SQL, Python, R) for performance analysis.
