Overview

We are looking for a Junior Business Architect for our TCMG Business Design team to support the design of Target State Business Architecture—including a capability map, operating model, value streams, business services model, and related components—for SMBC EMEA (all departments and functions; all legal entities and branches).

Responsibilities

  • Support the definition of business service model scope and governance processes, including SLAs, OKRs, KPIs, and reporting; support service governance forums.
  • Participate in the design of the EMEA target state business architecture (capability map, operating model, value streams, business services model, etc.).
  • Maintain the current state business architecture to a level of detail sufficient to inform target state design and the development of the roadmap.
  • Collaborate with Technology, Data, Compliance, and Risk to develop a holistic target state design encompassing business architecture, technical architecture, and data architecture that enables SMBC EMEA’s business strategy.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Business Service Management: Experience defining service governance, SLAs, KPIs, and reporting. Desirable: experience with service management tools.
  • Business Architecture Design: Desirable: experience designing target state business architecture (capability map, operating model, value streams, business services model, etc.).
  • Business Analysis: Experience gathering requirements and building business process designs to support lower level design and delivery activities.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to understand and influence business strategy; ability to suggest strategic transformation strategies and design target state business architecture.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to build positive working relationships, influence to gain agreement, and resolve conflicting priorities in ambiguous environments.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate effectively across the organisation; ability to convey complex topics simply and articulate issues in a way that eases decision-making and drives action.
  • Influence: Ability to influence and align resources across the organisation.
  • Industry Knowledge: Desirable: knowledge of the financial services industry (and beyond) and ability to use that knowledge to enhance capability at SMBC.
