Introduction to Sustainability at Temasek

At Temasek, sustainability is core to everything we do—from our mandate to deliver sustainable value over the long term, to our strategy for operating as an institution, shaping our portfolio, and engaging our portfolio companies to build sustainable businesses.

In partnership with various teams across Temasek and our broader ecosystem, the Sustainability Group initiates, develops, and implements strategies to build a climate-resilient, net-zero portfolio that enables nature positive and inclusive growth. The group also catalyzes new business opportunities, advances thought leadership, and supports our growth as a sustainable organization, creating shared value aligned with our mandate.

Sustainability Group Teams

The Sustainability Group comprises several sub-teams:

• Sustainability Strategy: Advancing our strategy and policy towards net zero, nature positive, and inclusive growth, and driving institutional and community-related sustainability initiatives.
• Sustainable Solutions: Driving decarbonization in portfolio companies and unlocking new investment opportunities in Sustainable Living trends by identifying emerging thematics and catalyzing innovative solutions.
• ESG Investment Management: Advancing ESG integration across our investment process, including portfolio engagement, to strengthen long-term portfolio resiliency and value creation.
• Ecosperity: Accelerating systems change by harnessing our Ecosperity platform to drive year-round engagements, thought leadership, and advocacy.

Ecosperity is Temasek’s core platform for sustainability advocacy and engagement. Through this platform, the Singapore-headquartered global investment firm drives global sustainability thought leadership by organizing year-round activities to convene conversations, catalyze action, and push the climate change and sustainable development agenda.

This internship position supports the Ecosperity team in developing advocacy strategies and executing convenings.

Responsibilities

• Develop research pieces on focus topics to support Ecosperity’s advocacy strategies and convening efforts.
• Support the curation of session narratives for high-level discussions at Ecosperity’s key convenings.
• Serve as a liaison officer to senior external stakeholders, including developing administrative briefs for speakers, presenters, and partners.
• Provide onsite support for Ecosperity’s convenings.

Requirements

Commitment:

• Ability to commit full-time for a minimum of 20 weeks. Full-time (5 days/week) or minimum part-time (4 days/week) commitment is strongly preferred.

Skills and Attributes:

• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong interest in sustainability, with informed perspectives on the latest trends, developments, and policies in sustainable development and climate action.
• A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment.
• Resourceful, adaptable, motivated, and possessing initiative and a "can do" attitude.
• Enjoyment of engaging with stakeholders and building relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in strategy development and/or executing high-impact events.
