Role details
Who We Are
Since 2014, Runway East has been on a mission to destroy boring offices. Across London, Bristol, Birmingham, Bath, and Brighton, we create flexible workspaces packed with perks like Cake Wednesdays and Friday drinks trolleys. As a proud B Corp, we’re committed to making a positive impact on people and the planet, supported by a passionate and friendly team.
The Role
As a Community Associate, your role goes far beyond reception duties. You will blend customer service and operational excellence to deliver an exceptional member experience. If you thrive on variety, enjoy problem-solving, and love building connections, this role is for you.
This is a genuinely hands-on role, blending hospitality with office hours. You will be active, covering a lot of ground, holding high standards across the building, and building real relationships with the people around you.
If you've worked in hospitality, front of house, or a high-touch service environment, you'll feel right at home. If you're looking for something largely desk-based, this probably isn't it. This role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, with occasional late finishes for events.

West End Support
Your home base is Tottenham Court Road, but this role will also support our Covent Garden site twice a week. Both our West End sites have great teams and brilliant member communities. We will discuss the practicalities during the interview.
What Your Days Look Like
No two days are identical, but here is roughly how your time breaks down:
- ~20% Member interactions: Building real relationships as you move around the building, covering floor rounds, reception, and events. You are always out and about, rarely stuck behind a desk.
- ~20% Admin: Managing our helpdesk, member communications, and day-to-day coordination.
- ~50% Site checks, cleaning & maintenance: Keeping kitchens, communal spaces, and facilities in great shape. This is an active role, and this is the core of the position.
- ~10% Events: Delivering member initiatives, from Cake Wednesdays to monthly community events. You will work with proven formats and a real budget, allowing you to focus on the energy rather than starting from scratch.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular cleaning and compliance checks to keep spaces safe, looking great, and fully functioning.
- Serve as the go-to person for members: whether it's a quick chat on the stairs, handling a facilities issue, or simply being a familiar face that makes their day better.
- Coordinate with your team and the right stakeholders calmly and quickly when issues or challenges arise.
- Deliver member events and bring the energy that makes them successful.
- Collaborate across teams, working closely with your Brighton team and colleagues across other sites (London, Birmingham, Bristol, Bath).
Who You Are
- Hands-on and proactive: Unfazed by physical tasks, and takes pride in a spotless, well-run space.
- A natural with people: Can switch comfortably from chatting with a startup founder to a senior executive, and genuinely enjoys building day-to-day relationships.
- Calm under pressure: When multiple things go wrong at once, you prioritize, communicate, and keep going without showing stress.
- Detail-oriented: You notice the things others miss and act without being asked.
- A team player: You show up for your colleagues, share knowledge across sites, and celebrate wins together.
- Experienced in hospitality, front of house, or high-touch customer service: You already know what it means to hold high standards in a busy, people-facing environment.
Why Join Us?
- Salary: £30,800
- Time Off: 31 days including bank holidays, plus an extra day for every year at Runway East. You also receive your birthday off and extra time off over the Christmas break.
- Wellbeing: Private health & dental, gym discounts, mental health support, and a Bike2Work scheme.
- Growth: Access to a personal development budget and learning resources.
- Community: Two workdays per year for charitable activities, team outings, and epic annual trips (Faro, Barcelona, Rhodes, Vilnius, and more!).
Our Commitment to Inclusivity
We celebrate diversity and believe it strengthens our community. We welcome people from all backgrounds, identities, and experiences. What matters most to us is your spirit and passion. If you need specific access support, please let us know—we’re here to help.
