Job Description

The US Graduate Leadership Intern Program is a 10-week internship that prepares you for the full-time 2-year direct-to-impact development program. The program places you at the center of a real-world transformational challenge aimed at bettering the lives of the clients, colleagues, and communities we serve.

This role provides specialized analytics, insights, research, and/or execution on projects and special initiatives. It demonstrates and develops day-to-day leadership through meaningful contributions to overall strategy within the functional area. The role will interact with partners and clients as required.

The program is designed to attract, develop, and retain top talent within TD, and supports colleagues into their next role after successful completion.

Depth & Scope

  • Solves complex problems requiring analysis of multiple variables, including consultation with multiple stakeholders.
  • Leads projects with moderately to complex risk and resource requirements; may lead end-to-end processes or functional programs.
  • Builds stakeholder alignment in leading projects and activities; may provide process and subject matter advice at senior levels.
  • Integrates the broader organizational context into advice and solutions within own area.
  • Understands the industry, competition, and factors that differentiate the organization.
  • Applies best practices to implement process, product, or service improvements.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert within their specialty area, or as a resource for others.

Education & Experience

  • Pursuing a graduate degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, a history of delivering strong results, and high aspirations and motivation for career progression to senior leadership roles.

Customer Accountabilities

  • Completes business objectives set with leadership as outlined at the start of the program.
  • Develops detailed, accurate, and timely research and reporting supported by insightful commentary.
  • Conducts internal and external research projects; supports the development and delivery of presentations/communications to management or broader audiences.
  • Conducts meaningful analysis at the functional or broader organizational level, using results to draw conclusions, make recommendations, and assess the effectiveness of programs/policies/practices.
  • Identifies and implements process improvements to automate, streamline, and increase the quality of analysis and decisions.
  • Represents the business on cross-functional/cross-product working groups, projects, and forums.
  • Works with key business partners on strategic initiatives.
  • Acts as a liaison between internal stakeholders and external advisors, where appropriate.
  • Manages and prioritizes multiple projects with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Advises and presents to senior management and influences decisions.
  • Invests in personal development and growth.
  • May be customer/client facing and may be required to provide solutions for escalated inquiries or concerns.

  • Actively manages relationships within and across business lines and corporate/control functions to ensure alignment with organizational and/or regulatory requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current graduate students in Marketing, Business, Economics, Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical skills; able to structure problems, turn performance data into clear takeaways and actions, and generate insight-driven recommendations.
  • Clear communicator; able to create concise, executive-ready materials.
  • Collaborative mindset; comfortable working across teams and with external agencies; able to help drive initiatives forward.
  • Comfortable working with data and translating insights into business actions; partners with a diverse range of teams.
  • Interest in brand building, media strategy, and marketing effectiveness.
  • Familiarity with media metrics and tools (e.g., reach/frequency, MMM, CPM, CPA, brand lift concepts) is an asset.
  • Ability to define success metrics and link performance to business impact.
  • Creative or innovative problem-solver with an interest in AI integration, technology, and innovation.
  • Interest in AI, automation, process improvement, and digital transformation.
  • Detail-oriented with an understanding of risk, controls, and data accuracy.
  • Structured problem solver; able to break down business questions into clear, logical components.
  • Strong attention to detail; able to manage multiple workstreams and timelines in parallel.
  • Experience with M365 Copilot (e.g., Researcher Agent, Analyst Agent, new Agent development).
