Job Description
This role is a banking professional who brings TD’s human, relationship-driven banking experience to life by partnering with clients to help them confidently achieve their financial goals. The role delivers personalized solutions that support overall financial well-being and is accountable for acquiring and deepening client relationships through consultative engagement, strong product knowledge, and disciplined execution while adhering to TD’s risk and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
Depth and Scope
- Drive client acquisition at a bank location by engaging clients through walk-in opportunities, lead management, and outbound outreach.
- Engage clients with curiosity, establish the purpose of each interaction, and conduct meaningful, goals-based discovery to understand client needs and priorities.
- Apply foundational banking knowledge to interpret client needs and validate understanding.
- Clearly explain relevant options, including features, benefits, and potential risks, using simple and transparent language.
- Deliver personalized solutions and next best actions by connecting clients with appropriate products, services, or partners.
- Execute accurately and consistently by establishing clear next steps and follow-up to support long-term financial progress.
- Serve as a trusted client advocate by providing ongoing guidance and educating clients about TD products, services, and digital capabilities.
- Build and strengthen client relationships through consistent, personalized interactions.
- Engage clients regarding mortgage products, accept mortgage inquiries, refer clients for mortgage solutions, and support other residential lending activities.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including accurate documentation, risk awareness, and protection of the client and the Bank.
Customer Accountabilities
- Deliver a welcoming, personalized client experience through meaningful discovery that builds trust and credibility.
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for client concerns, resolving issues end-to-end where possible and escalating them promptly when required.
- Drive client acquisition, retention, and relationship growth by identifying opportunities to deepen relationships and improve client outcomes.
- Balance client needs with risk and compliance requirements, ensuring accurate client information and adherence to policies.
- Bring TD’s brand and client strategy to life through every interaction.
Shareholder Accountabilities
- Complete operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations to minimize risk and protect clients.
- Safeguard the integrity of client relationships by complying with AML laws and regulatory requirements, accurately verifying client identification, maintaining data integrity, and following authentication and documentation standards.
- Identify potential discrepancies, material changes, or risk indicators and escalate them in accordance with policy and procedure.
- Act in accordance with TD’s code of conduct and ethical standards.
- Protect TD’s clients, colleagues, and the Bank by doing the right thing, taking ownership, raising concerns, and understanding applicable requirements.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least one year of experience engaging with clients in a service, sales, or relationship-building environment.
- Teller or cash-handling experience in a financial institution preferred.
- Experience educating clients about products and services in a consultative manner.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills in client interactions.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar workplace technologies.
- Ability to complete required job-related training upon hire.
- Ability to obtain and maintain active registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS), as required for the role.
- Notary license, or ability to obtain one, preferred.
OCC Requirements
- This position falls within the definition of Loan Originator under Regulation Z of the Truth in Lending Act, 12 CFR Part 1026.36, and the definition of Mortgage Loan Originator under the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act), 12 U.S.C. §§ 5102 et seq., and its implementing regulations, 12 CFR Part 1007.
- Must be eligible for employment with a covered financial institution under the standards established by Regulation Z of the Truth in Lending Act, 12 CFR Part 1026.36.
- Must be eligible for registration as a registered mortgage loan originator with the NMLS in accordance with the SAFE Act and its implementing regulations.
- Satisfactory results on a criminal background check and credit report check are required. Federal law also requires statements or certifications from the applicant regarding administrative, civil, and/or criminal findings by any government agency or authority.
