The Position

In support of the firm’s growth opportunity in the US Wealth channel, we are seeking a high-quality Fund Product Analyst to join our Funds team in the US. This individual will partner closely with our Fund Product Manager based in New York and support the continued build-out of our US Funds platform alongside broader global Fund Product colleagues.

Wellington Management sponsors over 300 commingled investment vehicles globally with AUM of over $150 billion. This role will play a key part in delivering against our growing ’40 Act platform by supporting execution, coordination, and analysis across a range of commingled fund initiatives that will be offered broadly to US retail investors through a wide range of financial intermediaries.

The Fund Product Analyst will support the development, implementation, and ongoing management of Wellington’s growing 1940 Act fund range, with a strong focus on execution, coordination, and process discipline. This role is intended to expand capacity within the US Funds team and directly support the Fund Product Manager and broader Funds group in delivering against a growing pipeline of fund initiatives.

This role reports to the Director of Fund Product and works closely day-to-day with the Fund Product Manager (New York). You will act as a key support resource across fund development and platform initiatives, and partner with Wellington Management’s ’40 Act funds stakeholder group, including members of sales, product management, servicing, legal, compliance, risk, operations, and tax. Specific responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and coordinate the fund development and design process, ensuring timelines, inputs, and stakeholder deliverables are effectively tracked and progressed. This includes contributing to new product approvals, developing knowledge of target market objectives and constraints, navigating applicable regulations, analyzing competitors, and supporting platform build-out while balancing commercial outcomes, efficient scaling, and risk mitigation. Responsibilities also include preparing materials for internal governance forums and maintaining clear audit trails of decisions and approvals.
  • Support the execution of all aspects of the fund launch, including structuring and fund terms, maintaining detailed launch plans, tracking milestones, and coordinating inputs across stakeholders. Contribute to fund positioning in launch materials and client communications, with a focus on ensuring readiness across operational, legal, and distribution components, and that stakeholders are equipped to represent the fund to clients and prospects.
  • Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency, consistency, and transparency across stakeholders, helping to institutionalize best practices and procedures as the platform scales. This includes supporting clear expectation setting around time to market, operational setup, reporting requirements, and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate the drafting, oversight, and maintenance of regulatory documentation in partnership with the Funds Legal team and other Fund Product colleagues.

Other Responsibilities

  • Support coordination with stakeholders regarding potential changes to existing funds, including investment policy updates, portfolio management changes, fee changes, guideline and dealing term updates, and regulatory-driven changes. Track changes through governance processes and support timely and accurate implementation.
  • Contribute to or coordinate drafting required disclosure amendments to offering documentation, navigating these through relevant governance forums for approval and implementation, and ensuring consistency across supporting and marketing materials.
  • Develop subject matter expertise over time to support input and education for internal stakeholders across US Wealth topics, including vehicle structures, regulations, instrument eligibility, product trends, pricing, liquidity, and suitability (with guidance from senior Fund Product team members).
  • Support preparation of materials for internal governance committees, policy maintenance, and Board reporting, with opportunities to lead and present as experience develops.
  • Lead or assist with ad hoc projects aligned to the build-out and scaling of the US Funds platform, and provide general troubleshooting support.

Qualifications

We seek individuals who can demonstrate:

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, track deliverables, and maintain high-quality output across competing priorities.
  • A collaborative and flexible mindset to navigate cross-functional input where priorities and client needs may evolve.
  • Good business judgment, willingness to take initiative, and a demonstrated sense of accountability and ownership.
  • Grace under pressure, an ethos for hard work, strong organization, and responsiveness/follow-through.
  • High level of intellectual curiosity and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex topics.
  • Positive, collegial attitude, sense of humor, and strong team orientation.
  • Strong analytical skills; familiarity with automation and use of AI to create efficiencies is beneficial.
