This internship opportunity is based across APAC offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai, and Taiwan.
Account Management
PIMCO’s client management teams are comprised of client-facing relationship management and sales professionals (“Account Managers”). Account Managers are directly responsible for contributing to the firm’s success by representing PIMCO to clients and prospective clients and delivering investment solutions that leverage PIMCO’s position as one of the world’s premier fixed income investment managers.
Account Managers are investment professionals with responsibilities that include:
- Educating clients about a broad set of investment strategies and building relationships across client organizations
- Developing a deep understanding of client needs, organizational structure, and industry trends to position client-centric solutions
- Collaborating with other PIMCO investment professionals, including Product Strategists and Portfolio Managers
- Providing information about performance attribution, market performance, and macroeconomic conditions
- Outlining the firm’s current economic outlook and portfolio strategy
Account Managers can specialize in servicing a wide range of client types, including but not limited to endowments, investment consultants, foundations, pension funds, broker-dealer firms, and government entities.
Career Development, Training and Mentoring
Every intern begins the summer with a formal week of training through the PIMCO Fundamentals program, designed to build skills, knowledge, and relationships to support your internship success. Informal learning continues throughout the summer in a perpetual learning environment. You will also be teamed with a seasoned professional who provides guidance and mentorship.

- Ability to articulate ideas, strategies, and views clearly verbally, in writing, and during presentations
- Personable and credible; ability to influence and develop client relationships into strategic partnerships
- Passion for financial markets, macroeconomics, and investment strategy
- Strong analytical abilities, including the capacity to blend quantitative with qualitative thinking
- Curiosity and experience using new emerging technologies and AI tools in your work or school projects to solve problems and drive better outcomes
Requirements
- Pursuing an MBA degree with an emphasis in Finance and Economics or a related, quantitative/analytical field from an accredited, leading business school or university (or other equivalent Advanced Degree as it relates to the position). Completion expected between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Availability to commit fully to the internship for the full program duration
- Business proficiency in English; proficiency in any Asian languages is a plus
Summer Program Details
- The PIMCO Internship is a 10-week program running from early June to mid-August, with the expectation that you will be available for the full duration.
- Cross-divisional education, networking, and social events
- Formal mentor program (your supervisor, peer mentor, senior leaders, and team offer guidance and mentorship throughout the summer)
- Hands-on experience with AI-powered tools from day one, supported by training and resources to help build future-ready skills and make an impact
- Formal reviews and feedback at mid-summer and end-of-program

Interview Process
- After we receive your application, we will conduct an initial review of your resume.
- If selected to move forward, you will be invited to complete a one-way video interview and assessment to showcase your interests, skills, and personality.
- After completing the assessment, you will participate in a final round of live interviews via video conference. These interviews typically include both behavioral and technical questions.
