Position Overview
The Middle East and Africa team is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships and business with clients in the Middle East, including central banks, sovereign funds, pension funds, family offices, and banks.
As an Account Analyst, you will work in a dynamic role supporting the servicing of PIMCO's Middle East and Africa businesses. You will be responsible for gathering and analyzing economic and market trends, providing customized reporting, evaluating portfolio structures, and delivering attribution analyses to the Middle East and Africa Account Managers. You will also collaborate with PIMCO's investment professionals, including Account Managers, Product Managers, and Portfolio Managers, to ensure the highest level of service to our clients and to provide support with business development efforts.
Account Analysts use computer applications to prepare detailed portfolio risk reports, accounting reports, and other weekly, monthly, and quarterly client reports, as well as assist with various management initiatives and responsibilities.
Key Analytical Responsibilities
This position requires an analytical, detailed professional who can:
- Accurately and efficiently prepare client reports spanning performance, trading activity, portfolio valuation, and risk metrics.
- Continually build understanding of underlying market factors to complete more qualitative, complex investment analyses.
- Effectively utilize tools such as Excel spreadsheets, macros, and query tools, along with public and private internet sites. Bloomberg and/or Yieldbook knowledge is a plus.
- Support the Account Management team through the provision of market and portfolio data.
- Analyze portfolio data, including qualitative and quantitative performance attribution.
- Handle the ongoing automation of growing reporting requirements and streamlining of the reporting process.
- Produce ad-hoc client and internal requests for information.
- Maintain a commitment to quality and attention to detail; ensure that all work is delivered completed, accurately, and on time.
- Actively listen and ask questions to determine and meet customer needs; go beyond normal job responsibilities to indirectly satisfy the customer.

Qualifications
Education
- Preference for a University degree with an emphasis in Finance and Economics or a related, quantitative/analytical field from an accredited, leading business school or university, or other equivalent Advanced Degree.
- Progression toward a CFA is desirable, but not essential.
Languages
- Fluent English. Arabic is a plus.
Requirements
- 0-2 years working in a similar role within the asset management or financial services industry.
- Ideal candidates are familiar with fixed income markets and macroeconomics, private assets, and derivative instruments.
- Candidates must possess the ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel, both internal and external, and utilize excellent time management and communication skills. Must be team players and self-motivated.
- Candidates must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Excel (VBA knowledge is an advantage), PowerPoint, and be comfortable with software applications in general. Must possess strong analytical and mathematical abilities.
- Familiarity with AI tools and AI-enabled capabilities to improve efficiency, research, and problem-solving.
