Business Strategy Analyst Intern (Fundamental Equity COO)

Schonfeld is looking for a highly motivated Business Strategy Analyst Intern to join the Fundamental Equity COO (FE COO) team. You will partner closely with the FE COO team to help run executive routines, support business-side program management for operational, technology, and strategic initiatives, and build documentation that keeps cross-functional commitments on track. This role requires a creative, critical thinker with strong analytical, communication, and project leadership skills, and offers real input into the Fundamental Equity business’s infrastructure. Because priorities evolve continuously, you will address a wide variety of business problems that require careful disentangling and detailed analysis.

What You’ll Do

  • Research and map the Portfolio Manager and Analyst onboarding and offboarding journey, identify gaps, and propose solutions.
  • Help clean up and maintain vendor and budget data by building a clear, repeatable categorization and reconciliation process that helps PMs manage business economics.
  • Build or improve presentation and educational materials that new Portfolio Managers and Analysts rely on.
  • Design a simple tracking template and process for handling incoming market and product questions from external Portfolio Managers.
  • Document processes and proactively surface ideas to improve efficiency, data quality, and transparency across the FE platform.

What You’ll Bring

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and follow through independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with comfort reaching out to and interviewing stakeholders across functions and seniority levels.
  • Familiarity with PowerPoint, Excel, Claude, and Confluence.
  • Genuine curiosity about how a hedge fund platform operates, with an interest in process improvement and operational efficiency; ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Comfort working autonomously in a fast-paced, global, highly collaborative environment.
