Strategic Business Impact

For this role, projects may include the following responsibilities:

• Partner with mentors and cross-functional teams to develop new products and manufacturing processes; present development results at technical reviews.
• Contribute to product and packaging design through design reviews and design analysis, including participation in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews.
• Review process specifications and development plans with team members and external suppliers (e.g., mold makers, prototyping services, and equipment suppliers).
• Assist with the selection of primary and secondary plastic processing equipment.
• Help develop project capital, product cost requirements, and appropriations requests.
• Conduct processing trials to optimize process variables using process analytical tools, DOE methods, and pFMEA alongside plastic part and mold design best practices.
• Conduct FAT, IQ, OQ, and PQ qualifications for molds and/or equipment and molding processes; coordinate measurement and dimensional studies; document results in detailed technical reports.
• Conduct measurement system analysis, functional testing, and dimensional studies; document results in detailed technical reports.

Compensation & Relocation

Our Undergraduate co-ops offer an hourly rate between $18.50 and $28.75, depending on the role type and location you are supporting (aligned to respective cost-of-living guidelines). If eligible, a relocation stipend of $5,000 net is offered. Students must be located 50+ miles away from the physical location of the internship to be eligible for the relocation stipend. Students are required to have a reliable mode of transportation to and from their assigned work location for the duration of their co-op.

What We Look For

Academic Background & Work Experience

• Undergraduate student completing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Plastics Engineering between December 2027 – June 2029.
• Previous related co-ops, internships, and/or work experience preferred.

Leadership Profile

• Proven leadership experience through student organizations, athletics, Greek life, community service, volunteer organizations, campus programs, military service, or other leadership roles.
• A track record of influencing others, leading initiatives, driving results, and creating positive impact within teams and organizations.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt to changing priorities, and solve complex problems.
• Evidence of grit, resilience, and perseverance when facing challenges, setbacks, or competing priorities.
• Strong learning agility, intellectual curiosity, and an innovative mindset.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to build relationships across diverse teams.
• Geographic mobility and flexibility required to pursue co-op and future career opportunities in locations aligned with business needs.
• Onsite and in-office work is an essential function of this role and is required throughout the program and in future placements to support collaboration across businesses, functions, and locations.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position (Intern II) based in New York is $21.50–$28.75.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. A comprehensive Total Rewards package may include:
