Working Student (RRS)
The Moody’s Ratings and Research Support (RRS) Working Student will support analytical teams in day-to-day research, data collection, financial analysis, publication support, and process-related projects. The student is expected to work 3 days per week for 12 months. Key responsibilities may include:
- Provide day-to-day analytical and research support to rating teams
- Contribute to research, data, and process-related projects
- Collect, organize, and analyze data to support well-reasoned credit conclusions
- Prepare financial models, documents, charts, and presentation materials
- Monitor media outlets for news related to special projects or assigned portfolios
- Support the preparation of high-quality research publications
- Participate in GenAI-related training, testing, and idea incubation (where relevant)
About the Program
This internally facing role reports to a Team Manager and offers current students an opportunity to develop skills valuable for future careers in the financial services industry. Working students complete project work determined by their team that has real impact, supporting professional growth. Working student opportunities are offered to current students who wish to work part-time (typically 6 to 12-month increments, depending on country).
Skills and Competencies
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English, with solid verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with analytical teams
- Solid accounting background; pursuit of CFA, CPA, or an equivalent qualification is preferred
- Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail and sound judgment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work independently, manage workflow, adapt to a changing environment, and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving
- Knowledge of other Asian languages (plus)
- Familiarity with GenAI tools and a strong interest in applying AI to research, analysis, and workflow improvement (plus)
Education
Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Political Economy, International Relations, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline, with a strong interest in financial markets, economic research, and data analysis.
