This internship programme is full-time. Interns will be involved in real-time work from Day 1, gaining insights into the Exchange business and the finance value chain. Leave of Absence (LOA) may be required to take on the internship.

Securities Trading

Team Overview

This is a product management role in Securities Trading. The selected intern will learn about the market structure and drivers of the securities cash and securitized products business by working with product managers, building the skills and knowledge needed to become an integral member of the team.

Learning Outcomes

The intern will work alongside market professionals in the Markets – Securities Trading team to understand the market structure and mechanics of the equities market portfolio. This includes building knowledge of business drivers and requirements. The intern will support real-time work through data analytics, quantitative and statistical analysis, and reporting relevant market data for both existing and newly launched products.

Job Description

• Work closely with product managers to evaluate the competitive landscape and market trends for the product suite by collating data from public sources and data platforms such as Bloomberg Terminal.
• Research and develop ideas and strategies to drive trading activity for cash equities and securitized products.
• Build and maintain dashboards on Tableau and Excel to monitor business performance.
• Maintain and document existing big data infrastructure.
• Generate in-depth product-specific insights via market research and data analysis.
• Create marketing materials and educational resources to increase client engagement.
• Support the new product lifecycle across development, launch and growth phases.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Intellectual curiosity and knowledge of macroeconomics, financial markets, and cash equities & derivatives instruments.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with a proactive approach to finding solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask efficiently.
• Proficiency in Tableau and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of statistical analysis and computer programming is an added advantage.
