Purpose of the Role
Support the day-to-day operations of the Public Policy and Corporate Responsibility division by providing insights and expertise that help more senior colleagues make informed decisions, develop new products and services, and identify new market opportunities.
Accountabilities
- Execute small research projects to support strategic decision-making; prepare presentations and reports to communicate research findings; collaborate with senior management to implement research findings for public policy and corporate responsibility.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Identify opportunities, develop business cases, and help manage the deployment and launch of new products and services for public policy and corporate responsibility.
- Manage client relationships and provide customer service support to clients and customers under steadily decreasing supervision, including responding to questions about products and services, processing transactions, and resolving customer complaints.
- Manage the development and implementation of financial models and strategies to support decision-making for public policy and corporate responsibility.
- Train and mentor junior colleagues; facilitate individual or group training sessions; develop and maintain training materials.

- Take responsibility for embedding newly adopted policies and procedures for risk mitigation.

- Own and strengthen risk management and controls related to work you own or contribute to; deliver work and areas of responsibility in line with relevant rules, regulations, and codes of conduct.
- Maintain and continually build an understanding of how the own sub-function integrates with the function, alongside knowledge of the organisation’s products, services, and processes.
- Demonstrate understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to achieving the objectives of the organisation’s sub-function.
- Make evaluative judgments based on analysis of factual information, paying close attention to detail.
- Resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions using acquired technical experience, guided by precedents.
- Guide and persuade team members and communicate complex or sensitive information.
- Act as a contact point for stakeholders outside the immediate function while building a network of contacts outside the team and beyond the organisation.

Eligibility and Location
- To be considered, you must be in your penultimate year of university.
- You must be graduating in 2028.
- You will be based at the location indicated in the job title.
- If you receive a return offer to the graduate programme, your location will be the same as it was during your internship.
Skills and Attributes
- Curiosity about public policy, corporate responsibility, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
Visa Information
- Barclays will accept applications from candidates who require visa sponsorship to work in the UK and will provide a skilled worker visa for successful applicants if they meet the Home Office’s eligibility criteria.
- If you are not eligible for a skilled worker visa and Barclays cannot secure one for you, you must have your own legal right to work in the UK on a full-time basis from June 2027 to August 2027.
