Technology Industrial Placement (Summer Analyst / Internship)

In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power the Firm. The Technology Industrial Placement provides classroom and on-the-job training, along with valuable work experience.

Recruits work alongside experienced colleagues on real projects, designed to deliver a practical, project-based experience of what it is like to be a technologist at a top financial firm. You will receive regular mentoring and coaching, along with evaluation reviews to help ensure your career stays on track and that you continue to develop throughout your placement.

Summer Analysts who excel may receive an offer to join the Full-Time Finance Analyst Training Program.

Training Programme

Interns participate in an induction process providing an overview of the Firm and the Technology division. In addition to working on a live project, highlights include:

• Senior management networking events
• Team-building opportunities
• A technical speaker series

Roles and Responsibilities

Application Development Teams

Application development teams build applications that enable the business to perform. Covering the full software development lifecycle, they typically:

• Meet with clients to gather and analyse requirements
• Determine, design, and develop optimal solutions to client problems
• Test, deploy, and enhance applications in production

Teams work on a wide range of applications, including streamlining complex reporting workflows and building high-performing, low-latency electronic trading systems.

Qualifications and Skills

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent degree in a STEM background
• Understanding of operating systems
• Foundations in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, or C++)
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong passion for technology
