Software Engineer, Ask Google Pay

As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business grows and evolves. We are looking for versatile engineers who demonstrate leadership and are enthusiastic about taking on new problems across the full stack.

Google Pay now serves over 250M users in India. Our Singapore-based team is responsible for key features of the India Consumer app. You will own end-to-end reliability and growth for critical user surfaces, driving both engagement and multi-million dollar business generation streams. In this role, you will build and own entire user flows in the app, with a focus on performance, latency, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain key surfaces within the Flutter-based GPay app, focusing on performance optimization, UI development, and RPC integration.
• Build and own entire user flows in the app with a focus on performance and latency.
• Work on relevant technologies such as Java, Dart, Flutter, Android/iOS, and AI agent prompting.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience with full-stack development across back-end codebases such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience building systems that scale to millions of users globally.
• Experience working effectively with PM/UX to drive features end-to-end.
• Mobile app, full-stack, or backend development experience.
