Role

We are looking for talented individuals to join our Energy and Natural Resources business over the Summer in London.

Responsibilities

Examples of work might involve:

• Evaluating climate change and energy policies, including emissions, renewable energy, and energy efficiency policies
• Assessing the economic impacts of government policies and regulations, including costs, benefits, and other social effects on markets, businesses, and assets
• Auction design and/or simulation, and competitors’ analysis
• Developing pricing systems for transport infrastructure
• Preparing expert reports on a range of economic and finance issues in litigation and international arbitration proceedings

This is a unique opportunity to work on real cases and projects to gain valuable experience in economic consulting, collaborating with internationally recognized experts.

Interns at NERA will have the opportunity to work on real cases and:

• Conduct literature and data research
• Perform conceptual analysis applying theoretical literature to the facts of a case
• Manage and clean data
• Analyse data and interpret results
• Participate in drafting reports, memoranda, presentations, and other work products

You Will Need

• To be studying Economics—either in the final year of an undergraduate degree or as a current Master’s or PhD student in Economics, ideally in your penultimate year
• To enjoy microeconomics and quantitative research
• To be comfortable working in Excel, Stata, R, Python, or other quantitative software platforms
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to think analytically and critically
• Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken); fluency in another language would be useful but is not essential
• To be able to work effectively both individually and in teams
• To have the right to work in the UK
