Role Summary
As a Client Policy Analyst for Governance at Broadridge, you will join a specialized research team at the intersection of investor and issuer corporate governance practices. You will focus on all things proxy voting—including plumbing, research, execution, data, and policy. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise in the governance landscape. You will support internal teams and external clients by analyzing proxy votes and voting trends. The ideal candidate has a curiosity about the corporate governance landscape and its role in financial markets and is eager to learn. Prior experience in corporate governance is not required. Curiosity, sound judgment, and willingness to learn are essential.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Analyze global company filings and proxy statements to assess corporate governance and executive compensation practices
- Interpret client policy mandates and apply them to upcoming shareholder meetings
- Contribute to data management and research projects supporting governance analyses
- Leverage analytical tools and models to identify patterns in proxy voting and governance trends to make quantitative and qualitative assessments
- Collaborate with internal teams to prepare insights and recommendations for clients
- Perform other duties as assigned
Basic Skill Level Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, public policy, sustainability or related field; and/or equivalent experience/industry qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in research, proxy voting, data analysis, or capital markets-related role (preferred)
- Comfort working with analytical tools and large data sets
- Familiarity with corporate governance practices in the Americas; willingness and ability to deepen this knowledge quickly through training
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and manage multiple projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn quickly
- Proficient with Excel and experience working with databases
