Financial Restructuring

Houlihan Lokey has the largest worldwide financial restructuring practice of any investment banking firm, with offices and experienced professionals located across the globe. Since its inception in 1988, the restructuring group has advised on more than 1,900 restructuring transactions with aggregate debt claims in excess of $4 trillion. With nearly 300 dedicated restructuring professionals worldwide, the group has a significant global presence. The team serves clients domestically and around the world and provides extensive resources to staff each case.

The group’s broad base of clients and extensive experience enable it to understand the dynamics of each restructuring situation and the needs, attitudes, and positions of all parties in interest.

Responsibilities

The Financial Restructuring Group is looking for an Off-Cycle Intern to join our Singapore office.

Restructuring Off-Cycle Interns work with the group to assist with a variety of transactions, including creditor- and debtor-side restructurings and distressed M&A. The role offers exposure to various financial advisory and investment banking products and industries, including:

• Advising companies and stakeholders in out-of-court and in-court restructurings
• Raising debt and equity financings
• Providing distressed M&A advisory services
• Advising in special situations with elements of distressed investing
• Participating in complex negotiations on behalf of clients

Off-Cycle Interns typically join deal teams comprising at least one managing director, vice president, associate, and financial analyst.

Qualifications / Requirements

The following qualifications are required:

• Strong academic track record and hold or be on track for a 2:1 degree in accounting, economics and/or finance
• Top academic performer and a quick learner capable of performing in an unstructured environment
• A demonstrated interest in restructuring
• Prior investment banking internship experience (M&A or an industry team), leverage finance or restructuring is desirable but not essential
• Thorough understanding of valuation theory, methodologies, and applications
• Strong quantitative, financial, and analytical skills
• Strong LBO and DCF modeling skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional strong work ethic
• Must have the right to work within country
