Job Purpose

As a long-term intern in the ABS/CLO trading team, the role holder will support more senior team members with routine tasks related to the trading activity. The work will focus on developing desk infrastructure and will be performed under the direct supervision of more experienced colleagues.

More specifically, the role will require:

• Learning the intricacies of EUR securitised products
• Producing and monitoring P&L and risk metrics
• Helping improve desk infrastructure and pricers

Key Responsibilities

• Provide routine support by completing non-complex, transaction-oriented tasks, including assisting with booking transactions and monitoring/conducting follow-ups with Middle Office and Back Office
• Monitor the aggregate risk and P&L of the team’s book
• Stay up to date with market news and events
• Evaluate risks and opportunities in the market for positions and strategies that align with the desk’s overall strategy
• Provide market colour to other parts of the bank (e.g., Sales, Syndicate & Strategy)
• Use knowledge within the team to apply best practices across activities and identify potential process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of support provided
• Deliver information to team members accurately and succinctly, and build internal working relationships with other traders and teams (including Sales and DCM) to ensure effective collaboration and franchise development

Requirements

• Degree from a leading university with an excellent academic record, or equivalent work experience
• Good understanding of financial markets
• Curious and eager to learn
• Confident verbal and written communication and networking skills
• Proficiency with MS Office tools, including Excel
• Strong organisational, multitasking, and time management skills
• Strong analytical thinking and judgement
• Meticulous accuracy with a keen eye for detail
• Team player who is proactive, independent, enthusiastic, and has strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent spoken and written English; additional languages are an advantage
• Strong programming skills (preferably Python)
