Summer Analyst Program (Commercial Bank)

Citi’s Commercial Bank (CCB) is looking for Summer Analysts to join the team. Our Commercial Banking division works with businesses with annual sales ranging from $10 million to more than $3 billion. We help clients maximize growth while taking full advantage of Citi’s banking products, including deposits and lending, cash management, trade, FX (foreign exchange), and capital markets solutions.

The 10-week Summer Analyst Program begins in June and includes in-depth training, combining formal training with hands-on experience to help you quickly ramp up and adapt to your role and Citi’s culture. You will receive ongoing training in sales, credit, product, technology, and professional skills, supported by a junior and senior mentorship structure.

What You’ll Learn

By the conclusion of the Program, you can expect thorough experience with and a strong understanding of:

• The CCB target market, value proposition, and client coverage model
• How bankers interact with clients and identify their needs
• Various credit product types and how they fit client needs
• The commercial loan underwriting process, including loan structuring and documentation
• End-to-end credit processes, including new origination and monitoring of a credit portfolio
• Engaging with clients, prospects, and centers of influence
• Citi credit and regulatory policies and procedures

Role Overview

You will join a Coverage team for the duration of the Program, working directly with Relationship Managers on a portfolio of clients and interfacing with teams across the firm. Coverage team members serve as a thought partner to clients, working closely with them to deliver the full breadth of Citi’s solutions to help them fund operations and expand locally and overseas.

Responsibilities

Analysts play a critical role in meeting the needs of clients and prospects, including:

• Conducting company research and industry analysis
• Analyzing financial data and performing financial modeling focused on company valuations, discounted cash flow analysis, and pro-forma analyses
• Supporting the commercial lending process, including secured and unsecured revolving lines of credit, term loans, syndicated loans, leveraged loans, and cross-border loans approved locally and extended overseas through CCB’s global network of 26 countries
• Taking ownership of the client experience by partnering with Bankers and Product teams to determine which products to leverage to help clients achieve their goals
• Supporting deal management and client presentation preparation, including creating business development presentations, pitch books, prospect memos, and other client-related decks
• Interacting with partners across the firm, including product, credit risk, in-business controls, legal, marketing, operations, risk, compliance, and technology teams

Qualifications

• You are passionate about partnering with stakeholders to achieve goals
• You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• You are majoring in Finance or Accounting, or have experience in Financial Services through clubs or internships
• You are in your penultimate year of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any discipline from a top academic institution (graduating between Dec 2027 and June 2028)
• You have a preferred GPA of 3.5 or above
• You are proficient in MS Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint
