About Proprietary Research
On our proprietary research team—Market Intelligence—you’ll partner with our Investment Professionals and Compliance team to uncover insights about companies, industries, and the broader economy through deep fundamental research.
Canvas is the supply chain research group within Market Intelligence. Canvas conducts compliant supply chain research by developing deep industry expertise, speaking with private company executives, and synthesizing information for portfolio managers and analysts. The team produces impactful research that will change the way you look at the world.
What You’ll Do
This 6-month intensive fellowship offers hands-on experience in research, business analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and the investment process within a fast-paced, compliance-focused environment. Canvas Fellows will be considered for permanent placement on the team following completion of the program.
As a Fundamental Researcher on Canvas, your qualitative research will explain why is happening. During the 6-month program based in our New York office, you will:
- Become a subject matter expert on an assigned industry.
- Engage with small, medium, and large private company executives about their businesses and the industries in which they operate, gathering qualitative data on key developments—including structural shifts, real-time changes in supply/demand dynamics, and emerging competitors, markets, and technologies—with a focus on understanding why.
- Synthesize findings in comprehensive reports that present a view of the industry.
- Gain exposure to, and learn from, business leaders across industries, including private company executives and your colleagues.
- Interact directly with investment professionals and learn the discretionary investment process to help drive more informed investment decisions.
- Partner on the above with dedicated Compliance professionals.

- Undergraduate degree conferred in 2025 or 2026.

The annual base salary is $100,000 (USD), which will be prorated based on program start and end date. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from the posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
