Project Description
Modern semiconductor manufacturing warehouses require efficient storage utilization and real-time visibility of inventory locations. This project focuses on the design and development of a warehouse intelligence system that enhances visibility into storage occupancy, inventory positioning, and accessibility without reliance on enterprise transactional systems for routine queries.
The objective of this project is to provide hands-on exposure to system design, data engineering, and visualization techniques through the development of an end-to-end solution—from database structuring to dashboard creation—within a manufacturing environment.
Objective of the Project
- Develop an understanding of warehouse storage structures and data modeling approaches.
- Apply system design principles to translate operational scenarios into structured digital solutions.
- Gain exposure to visualization techniques for real-time decision-making in manufacturing environments.
Project Scope
- Design a structured database schema by identifying relevant data fields related to inventory, storage locations, and quantities.
- Define inventory tracking methodologies and map logical representations of physical storage locations.
- Develop a visualization dashboard using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent to present storage occupancy and accessibility.
- Establish quantifiable metrics such as space utilization, storage density, and retrieval efficiency, and implement them within the solution.
- Develop a simulation model to represent storage flows and interactions across different warehouse zones.
- Analyze existing warehouse process flows and translate them into system requirements for solution design.
- Document system architecture, including data flow and component structure, to enable maintainability and knowledge transfer.
