Project Description

This internship is a structured, project-based learning opportunity designed for ITE students pursuing engineering-related studies. The internship focuses on helping the intern learn fundamental engineering data handling, documentation practices, and analytical thinking skills within a manufacturing environment.

Through a defined learning project, the intern will explore how engineering data is collected, reviewed, and summarized for project and process improvement purposes. The internship emphasizes learning, observation, and skills development, and does not involve shift work, daily production operations, or replacement of technician or engineer responsibilities.

Project Objectives (Learning Objectives)

• Understand basic engineering and manufacturing data types used in project and process studies.
• Apply introductory analytical and critical-thinking skills to review data and identify common issues.
• Learn standard practices for engineering documentation and data accuracy.
• Gain foundational exposure to data analysis, reporting, and structured problem-solving.
• Develop professional workplace skills including documentation, communication, and teamwork.
• Work on AI-enabled and automation-related initiatives that support operational excellence and process improvement.

Project Scope

The internship project includes:

• Learning how engineering data is collected and documented for projects and experiments.
• Reviewing existing procedures, documentation, and business processes for completeness and clarity as part of a guided learning exercise.
• Performing introductory data entry, analysis, and summary reporting tasks as project deliverables.
• Applying basic analytical methods to interpret simple datasets and identify trends or inconsistencies.
• Exploring introductory concepts related to automation, digitalization, and smart manufacturing.
• Documenting observations, findings, and lessons learned throughout the internship.

Course of Interest

• Minimum Nitec/Diploma in Mechatronics, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering

Minimum 5 months, full-time internship (July 2026 to December 2026)
