USD Rates Analyst

Rates Trading Analyst

U.S. Bank is seeking a highly motivated analyst to join our Rates Trading team. In this role, you will partner with senior traders to build and expand our market-making operation across all Rates products, including Interest Rate Swaps and Options. You will participate in trading activities such as pricing, risk management, and modeling, while also collaborating with Sales to expand our client franchise and with Quant to grow our product offerings.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute USD Interest Rate Derivative trades (Swaps, Swaptions, Caps/floors), manage client order flow, and handle trade queries.
• Analyze global rate markets, macroeconomic trends, and relevant data to support market-making activity.
• Develop risk mitigation strategies aligned with client portfolios.
• Partner with Sales, relationship bankers, treasury consultants, and credit managers to address client needs.
• Coordinate with Sales, middle office, and back-office teams to ensure seamless execution.
• Support team operations and contribute to a collaborative desk culture.

Compensation

• Base pay for this role usually falls within $100,000 - $110,000 and includes an annual discretionary incentive.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong quantitative ability.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Excel (VBA), Python, AI coding techniques, and Bloomberg.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Self-starter with a strong desire to learn and grow within a dynamic team.
• 1–3 years of USD Rates market experience.
