This position is available to be based in Calgary, Canada.

The Team

The Commodities North American Natural Gas trading desk market serves a variety of gas markets. On a day-to-day basis, team members are expected to price and execute derivatives transactions, stay connected with market events across commodity markets, and work with the wider team to support and build the overall business.

Job Summary & Responsibilities

• Support senior physical and financial traders with structuring, pricing, and executing transactions, and ongoing risk management of positions.
• Build and maintain fundamental supply and demand balances, and perform in-depth research on the markets we cover.
• Execute and book flow-based trades across commodity products; identify opportunities for automating execution.
• Understand commodities market fundamentals and trends, and communicate information succinctly to salespeople and clients.
• Produce commentary for a variety of client emails, as well as weekly and monthly strategy performance updates.

Minimum Education Requirements / Degree and Field

• Strong academic record with a minimum Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities, and work well under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role.

Salary Range

The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $110,000–$125,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
