Junior Accountant

Position Summary

Sony Corporation of America (SCA) is seeking a Junior Accountant to join the Corporate Accounting team at its NYC headquarters. The Junior Accountant responsibilities include all aspects of the general ledger and month-end closing. This is a deadline-driven environment that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and communication skills.

Work Location: Hybrid schedule — 3 days per week in the New York City office located at 25 Madison Ave.

Job Responsibilities

• Preparation of all intercompany invoices
• Recording of monthly journal entries
• Provide feedback to the manager on ways to enhance and streamline the invoicing process
• Daily monitoring of the AP clearing accounts
• Preparation of analysis schedules
• Preparation of bank reconciliations
• Assist with the monthly accounting close
• Assist with special projects as they arise
• Honesty, trustworthiness, and ethical conduct are material requirements for the responsibilities outlined above

Qualifications

• BS degree in Accounting (required)
• 1–2 years of accounting experience
• Experience with SAP Accounting software
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Adaptable and willing to work in a changing environment where continued process improvement is expected
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required)
• Driven, self-motivated, deadline-driven, and goal-oriented
• All candidates must be authorized to work in the USA

Compensation

The target annualized base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $78,000. The individual will be paid hourly and eligible for overtime. In addition to the annual base salary, this role has an annual bonus target of 5%.

This range does not include other compensation components or benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on factors that may include qualifications, years of relevant experience, specific skills, level of education, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location where the applicant lives and/or performs the job.
