Legal Intern

Position Summary

Sony Corporation of America (SCA), located in New York, NY, is the U.S. headquarters of Sony Group Corporation. SCA’s principal U.S. businesses include Sony Electronics Inc., Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC, Sony Music Entertainment, Sony Music Publishing, and Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. SCA provides a range of entertainment and technology experiences through its products and services worldwide. This internship offers hands-on experience within an in-house legal department.

Internship Details

SCA is seeking a Fall 2026 law student intern to support the Legal, Ethics & Trust Department. This is a paid internship, and the intern will assist lawyers in transactional, litigation, and corporate matters. Assignments may include researching and drafting memos, reviewing agreements and other legal documents, and attending client meetings and negotiations. The internship is designed to provide practical training in a real-world in-house legal environment.

Interns will work in person 1–2 days per week from the NYC office and remotely for approximately 15–20 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Experience/background/course work in technology, media, or related industries.
• Minimum of 3.0 GPA.
• Prior law firm/judicial internship or related internship experience is a plus.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks until completion.
• Experience in discreetly handling confidential information preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must be enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school.
• If applying for course credit, the applicant must be enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school internship/externship or clinical program.

Requirements

• Submit resume, cover letter, law school transcript, and a writing sample as part of the application materials.
• Available to work starting September 2026 until the end of the Fall 2026 semester.
• Candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Compensation

The target hourly rate for this internship is $23.00 per hour. The intern will be paid hourly and eligible for overtime.
