Role Overview

In this role, you will support the site energy sustainability program and implement good energy management practices to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact. The program will align with the global energy conservation program and the Singapore Energy Act. You will support the site in analyzing energy efficiency opportunities, leveraging expertise, and managing projects to implement improvements.

Responsibilities

Cost Transformation and Energy Management

  • Support cost transformation for utilities programs. Act as project owner, ensuring projects are on schedule, validated according to commitments, and reports are accurate. Conduct analyses, identify risks, propose mitigations, and report to the governance committee.
  • Support the site energy efficiency program and implement good energy management practices to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Align with the global energy conservation program and the Singapore Energy Act. Analyze energy efficiency opportunities, leverage expertise, and drive projects to implement improvements.
  • Support the site energy conservation program with all stakeholders to ensure site-wide consistency in energy awareness, energy conservation, and active participation.
  • Support the computerized energy monitoring system for the site to drive efficiency and sustainability.
  • Support energy audits, evaluate options, and provide solutions. Promote the energy efficiency program to ensure a high level of awareness by all employees in energy usage and equipment operation.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indices and take mitigation actions to meet objectives, escalating where appropriate.

Engineering Services Support

  • Coordinate with GES on site process engineering design, construction, and equipment validation activities when appropriate.
  • Support Energy Lead – Engineering to develop Profit Plan forecasts and execute activities to meet production, cost-effectiveness, and cost-reduction targets.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Energy Lead.

Management of Maintenance, Utilities & Facilities

  • Support utility/process/system energy efficiency programs—compile data, analyze it, and recommend methods to reduce wastage or adopt energy-efficient approaches.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and utilities managers to ensure all equipment has an effective preventive or predictive maintenance program to maintain high energy efficiency operation.
  • Support utility budgets, monitor actual billing, and track energy conservation projects against the budget. Analyze and report risks and mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate the implementation of energy projects with utilities operations with minimal manufacturing impact.
  • Ensure projects are timely, on budget, and completed in compliance with safety and quality standards.

Technical Competencies

  • Basic knowledge of energy conservation technologies, proven energy savings programs, standards, and benchmarking.
  • Basic application of theoretical engineering knowledge.
  • Basic development and monitoring of engineering budgets.
  • Basic planning of engineering and non-engineering activities in support of the role.
  • Basic understanding of risk-based decision making.
  • Consistent application and promotion of Lean Six Sigma, MPS, and change management tools.

SHE

  • Demonstrate safety behavior by following safety procedures and standards.
  • Seek opportunities to improve company SHE standards and contribute toward an injury-free workplace and better environment.
