The position is designed to help translate macroeconomic, market, regulatory, and portfolio developments into practical insights for insurance investment strategy, asset allocation, balance sheet management, and internal decision-making. The analyst will work closely with the Economics function, while also supporting Insurance Solutions and related Investment Consulting activities.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support macroeconomic and market monitoring, research, and communication (35%). Track and synthesize macroeconomic data releases, central bank announcements, policy developments, and market movements across major economies. Maintain awareness of developments in growth, inflation, monetary policy, interest rates, foreign exchange, credit markets, and broader risk sentiment. Support regular market updates, macro commentary, thematic research notes, outlook materials, and internal investment publications.
  • Maintain and improve chartbooks, dashboards, data visualisation, and analytical infrastructure (25%). Update macroeconomic, financial market, and insurance investment chartbooks used by investment, risk, strategy, and senior management stakeholders. Ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity of data, charts, calculations, sources, and assumptions. Improve repeatability and efficiency of recurring reporting through better templates, automation, data management, and quality control.
  • Support Insurance Solutions research, reporting, and decision support (25%). Assist with research and analysis of insurance investment themes, regulatory and capital developments, balance sheet trends, private asset opportunities, and asset allocation practices relevant to insurance companies. Support the development of management information, dashboards, briefing materials, committee papers, and senior stakeholder updates for Insurance Solutions and related Investment Consulting activities.
  • Contribute to cross-team projects and stakeholder support (15%). Work with colleagues across Economics, Insurance Solutions, Fixed Income, Risk, Portfolio Management, and other related teams where macro, market, regulatory, and portfolio considerations overlap. Respond to ad hoc analytical requests and prepare slides, data packs, briefing notes, and research summaries for internal stakeholders and senior management.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Actuarial Science, Business, or another relevant quantitative discipline.
  • Strong interest in global macroeconomics, financial markets, institutional investing, insurance balance sheets, and long-term asset allocation.
  • Solid analytical and quantitative skills, with strong attention to detail and data quality.
  • Ability to distil complex information into clear, structured written output and presentation materials for internal stakeholders.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, modelling, charting, and quality control, and in PowerPoint for preparing clear, well-structured presentation materials.

  • Basic understanding of fixed income, credit markets, macro–asset class linkages, portfolio construction, or insurance investment concepts would be beneficial.
  • Interest in private markets, regulatory developments, capital frameworks, and Asian insurance markets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Well organized, proactive, collaborative, service-oriented, and able to manage recurring deliverables alongside ad hoc research and project work.
