Responsibilities
- Provide valuation advisory services to the alternative investment community, including private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, pensions, and endowments, regarding valuation issues of their positions.
- Design financial models for discounted cash flow, market multiples, market transactions, and option pricing analyses.
- Perform valuation analyses on a wide range of illiquid investments across industries and geographies using accepted approaches and theory.
- Assist the team with interviewing clients, including face-to-face meetings, to gather data pertinent to the engagement.
- Work with management to build and maintain client relationships.
- Report and present analyses and conclusions in written reports.
- Attend relevant industry events to broaden knowledge and experience within the alternative asset industry.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics or MBA.
- Within 2 years of valuation-related work experience in financial services.
- Knowledge of the private equity industry is preferred.
- CFA (or Level 2 or Level 3 candidate) preferred.
- Ability to construct and review financial models such as discounted cash flow, comparable company models, and option pricing models.
- Good understanding of financial statements, accounting standards, and financial analysis techniques.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese, including Mandarin.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work flexible hours around critical due dates.
- Ability to manage confidential, sensitive information.
- Knowledge of software packages including MS Word, Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint.
