AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support data centers and all servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure continual access to our customers’ innovations. Role
Data Center Technicians play a critical role in maintaining IT infrastructure and hardware within the Data Center Operations (DCO) team. In this role, you will act as a primary technical resolver for data center infrastructure challenges, develop expertise in various hardware and software troubleshooting scenarios, lead resolution of infrastructure issues, and coordinate with solution teams on complex cases. The position includes shift work and may require rotation between locations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary technical resolver for data center infrastructure challenges
- Work within the Data Center Operations (DCO) team to maintain IT infrastructure and hardware
- Develop expertise in various hardware and software troubleshooting scenarios
- Lead resolution of infrastructure issues and coordinate with solution teams on complex cases
- Help drive continuous improvements
Safety
- Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and encourage a world-class safety culture
- Own safety initiatives and projects to foster a strong safety culture
Data Center Operations (DCO)
- Diagnose hardware and network problems followed by physical repairs
- Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
- Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with regulations)
- Work rotating shifts (morning/late/night) and weekends to maintain 24/7 data center operations
- On-call rotation to respond to off-duty emergency calls (if applicable)

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- High school or equivalent diploma
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Experience in networking and troubleshooting
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience in Linux and networking protocols, or experience with DNS/DHCP/TCP and Linux network troubleshooting
