Job Description
This role works with TD Wealth prospects and clients to attract and retain clients by addressing their wealth management advisory needs. Meets with prospects and clients to analyze their financial information, including income, cash flow, assets and liabilities, and understands their short- and long-term financial goals. Educates and advises prospects and clients regarding investment and insurance strategies and products, and recommends personalized investment and insurance strategies and products to meet their financial and wealth creation objectives.
A fiduciary, this role puts the client’s financial interests first when providing ongoing objective financial advice, long-term retirement planning, and annual reviews to determine if there have been changes in the client’s financial status or goals or the need for different strategies or products. Responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships through ongoing consultation, advice, planning, and day-to-day account servicing. Relies on relationship-building skills and the ability to influence to develop the client base and meet assigned goals. Within an assigned territory, this role educates and coaches Retail Store staff to identify referral prospects and engages key partners across the organization as appropriate/necessary.
Depth & Scope
- Serves as the primary relationship manager and financial advisor for TD Wealth clients with a wealth management advisory need
- Develops, maintains, and manages all aspects of the client’s relationship with TD Wealth
- Works with prospects to attract and develop clients and address their wealth management advisory needs
- Analyzes client and prospect financial information, including income, cash flow, assets and liabilities, and determines appropriate investment and insurance strategies and products; provides individualized financial advice
- Builds a client base through ongoing acquisition of new clients
- Educates and advises prospects and clients regarding investment and insurance strategies and products
- Retains and grows the client base through relationship management, ongoing communication, and periodic updates to financial planning
- Recommends personalized investment and insurance strategies and products to meet client objectives
- Meets quarterly and annual objectives
- Proficient in Salesforce, MoneyGuide Pro, and other authorized software to track client engagement and provide advice
- Ensures all new clients receive a complete onboarding experience, including thorough client discovery and a financial needs analysis
- Completion of all requisite client onboarding documents
- Provides education, coaching, wealth referral training, and ongoing feedback to Retail and Small Business staff
- Implements a process to ensure periodic ongoing contacts and an Annual Client Review (ACR) with an enhanced agenda focused on the client’s wealth and financial planning needs
- Deepens wallet share by anticipating client needs and suggesting suitable wealth solutions
- Identifies opportunities within the portfolio and network to refer business to Retail and Small Business/Commercial Partners
- Ensures adherence to regulations, policies, and procedures
- Adheres to all federal, state, SRO regulations and firm policies related to all business activities
- Maintains Continuing Education requirements
- Understands and adheres to TD Bank & TD Wealth Policies and Procedures
- Implements TD’s Customer Identification Program (CIP) and performs Customer Due Diligence and Enhanced Due Diligence as outlined in AML procedures
- Develops understanding of client assets and transitions higher-threshold clients to appropriate HNW Wealth partners as needed
- Fosters a positive work environment and supports the Wealth team
- Contributes as a team member and mentor to new Financial Advisors/Auditors
- Represents TD Wealth professionally to the public
- Demonstrates involvement in the community and supports TD charity and community initiatives
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
- 1+ years of relevant work experience in financial services, or relevant degree or completion of the FA Trainee program
- SIE & Series 7 required
- Required to have LIFE & Health (L&H) and Series 66 (or equivalent) or ability to obtain within Licensing and Registration Schedule
- Self-directed with strong ability to plan activities to achieve sales and referral goals
- Comprehensive understanding of wealth products and services
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to travel within the assigned market to meet prospects, clients, and partners five days a week
- Ability to commute within the assigned territory
- Understanding of wealth management business development techniques
- Understanding and experience interacting with retail and small business banking clients
- Consultative sales experience required
- Ability to establish relationships and partner effectively with other departments

- This position is with a FINRA member, broker and/or dealer and is subject to the requirements of FINRA and Securities Laws. May be registered or unregistered under FINRA.
- Must be eligible for employment under standards established by FINRA. Satisfactory results on background checks and regulatory verifications are required by federal law for this position.
