Job Summary
The Tax Intern, Transfer Pricing works with a team of consulting economists to help multi-national companies correctly price their inter-entity transactions. This role assists with examining a variety of economic conditions and industry trends, evaluating clients’ intercompany transactions, and consulting with clients to set or substantiate prices charged between related parties. The analysis of intercompany pricing helps companies comply with foreign and domestic tax regulations. The position requires strong analytical skills as well as exceptional writing and editing abilities.
Job Duties
- Information Gathering
- Conduct client interviews to gather information that informs inter-company transactions within a corporate group, including:
- Corporate structure
- Division of functional responsibilities among affiliated companies
- Distribution of risks among affiliated companies
- Value drivers for profitability
- Industry overview and competitive pressure
- Historical context of current circumstances
- Financial Analysis
- Analyze industry and client financial data to benchmark or document appropriate intercompany pricing policies
- Perform additional financial analysis, such as evaluating market penetration scenarios or valuing intangible property
- Prepare project reports for clients detailing approach, research, quantitative analysis, and final results to document compliance with tax regulations and provide advisory recommendations
- Prepare presentations to convey analysis results and recommendations to clients
- Participate in presentations to showcase service capabilities to potential clients
- Report Writing
- Write industry overviews and functional analyses for transfer pricing reports and documentation
- Take interview notes and prepare detailed summaries for team members
- Proofread and edit reports prior to delivering to clients
- Write technical memos describing the analytical process
- Other duties as required

Education
- Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Economics, or another relevant field of study

- Exceptional research and writing skills
- Skilled in detailed reading, proofreading, and editing highly technical material
- Ability to independently produce initial drafts of project deliverables
- Effective interpersonal skills and experience with presentations or public speaking
- Ability to communicate with clients in a professional and confident manner
- Strong analytical and basic research skills
- Solid organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to research tax topics and communicate written analyses effectively
- Basic understanding of transfer pricing with a desire to learn more about the industry
Individual salaries offered to candidates are determined after considering factors including qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
- California Range: $40.00/hr - $45.00/hr
- Colorado Range: $35.00/hr - $39.00/hr
- Illinois Range: $36.00/hr - $40.00/hr
- Maryland Range: $34.00/hr - $38.00/hr
- Massachusetts Range: $36.00/hr - $40.00/hr
- Minnesota Range: $32.00/hr - $36.00/hr
- New Jersey Range: $38.00/hr - $42.00/hr
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $36.00/hr - $40.00/hr
- Ohio Range: $33.00/hr - $37.00/hr
- Washington Range: $37.00/hr - $38.00/hr
- Washington DC Range: $34.00/hr - $38.00/hr
