Goldman Sachs Asset Management is one of the world’s leading asset managers with over $2 trillion in assets under supervision. As a primary investment area within Goldman Sachs, we provide investment and advisory services for pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, financial advisors, and individuals.

Alternatives Capital Formation (ACF)

Alternatives Capital Formation (ACF) is a part of the Client Solutions Group (CSG) within Asset & Wealth Management (AWM). ACF manages capital raising and strategy for alternatives investments across the full spectrum of alternatives including private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure, growth equity, sustainability, secondaries, GP stakes, and hedge funds / liquid alternatives. Within ACF, team members work within distinct product verticals and partner with investment teams, CSG, and wealth management, to drive and identify solutions for clients. This specific role sits within ACF’s Co-Investments vertical.

Co-Investment Team Overview

The Co-Investment Team within ACF coordinates the syndication of co-investment opportunities to AWM’s key investor base, enabling these clients to invest alongside Goldman Sachs in private investments across all major asset classes. The team plays a significant role in the structuring of the firm’s investments, working with the investment deal teams and investor clients, as well as various functional areas within the firm and across divisions (Global Markets and Banking, wealth management, etc.).

The work is deal- and investor-focused, with access to a wide range of businesses, industries, investment structures, and investor types. The team follows the full life cycle of the deal execution process – involvement with deal structuring, investor targeting, marketing of the investment to external clients, book-building and allocation, negotiation with investors on terms and economics, coordination of funding and closing of the investment, as well as ongoing client updates on investment performance and coordination of investment exits alongside GS.
