About the Infrastructure SIG team
The Infrastructure SIG investment banking team focuses on the investment banking coverage of infrastructure funds and the infrastructure pockets of sovereign wealth funds and pension funds. Clients are highly sophisticated investors, and the services offered span industries, geographies, and products. We provide debt, equity, and M&A advisory services for activities such as acquiring businesses (majority and minority stakes), refinancing or recapitalizing investments, or monetizing mature investments via sale or IPO. The team covers products and services across M&A, Leveraged Finance / DCM, ECM, and structured products / derivatives.
You will participate in the full cycle of transaction origination and execution, including preparing marketing pitches, reviewing and formulating financial analysis, and preparing and presenting internal committee memoranda and client presentations.
You will develop deep knowledge of infrastructure funds and build strong functional skills in major areas of investment banking, with the potential to become a senior officer capable of generating and executing your own transactions. You will gain exposure to a broad set of sectors and clients.
Areas of exposure
- Sectors:
- Digital infrastructure (data centers, communication towers, fibre and optical networks)
- Transportation infrastructure (air ports, sea ports and container terminals, toll roads, EV charging, rail and mass transit, parking)
- Energy, power, utility and mining infrastructure (conventional, renewable and distributed generation, storage, transmission and distribution networks, water and waste)
- Mission-critical services and social infrastructure
- Clients:
- Financial institutions including infrastructure investors, private equity firms, diversified alternative asset managers, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, family offices, and insurance capital providers
Job responsibilities
- Develop content for strategic meetings with clients regarding M&A, ECM, and DCM/debt transactions
- Coordinate with industry, product, and country teams to ensure correct prioritization, positioning, and delivery of relevant content to clients
- Interact with senior team members and client management teams on a daily basis to execute transactions and discuss strategic alternatives
- Define, guide, and review detailed valuation analyses, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables, LBO, and DDM analyses
- Work closely with clients to develop comprehensive transaction materials, including business plans, performance analyses, due diligence reports, and marketing materials
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Previous working experience:
- In an investment banking front office role
- In a relevant role at a top-tier buy-side institution or consulting firm
- Strong corporate finance proficiency and financial modelling skills
- Ownership and initiative: ability to take ownership across a project/transaction, with exposure to industry, country, and product teams
- Multi-tasking: ability to show initiative and support across several transactions in parallel, managing time across competing demands
- Impeccable communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with senior professionals, clients, and key stakeholders
- Self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently
- Entrepreneurial spirit: strong commercial mindset, creativity, and proactive business development and origination
- Ability to manage work across several transactions in parallel, across competing demands
- Desire or experience in working in infrastructure-related sectors
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Bachelor's degree
- European language (in addition to English) is desirable but not mandatory
