Job Summary

The role is an integral part of the Global Relationship Management (GRM) team within the Global TMT Corporate and Investment Banking group, focused on the Digital Infrastructure subsector. An Analyst supports the Digital Infrastructure team on major customer relationships and prospects, performing business origination support for Global Relationship Managers (GRMs) and deal execution. As part of a defined business strategy, this role regularly origins both investment banking products and traditional credit products based on client requirements.

Work arrangement: the selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and remotely one day per week. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the TMT banking team in expanding MUFG’s presence across the digital infrastructure space in lending, M&A finance, advisory, structured finance, and capital markets
  • Manage and monitor the execution of operational aspects of business origination as directed by GRM, including portfolio profitability analysis, follow-through of deal origination and execution processes, economic capital analysis, and management of client-focused workflows
  • Liaise with Product and Sponsor coverage groups to aid in structuring and execution of deals
  • Serve as the primary contact for the Global Network and manage Global Exposure Reports
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, customer developments, and credit issues, including industry trading and transaction comps
  • Conduct due diligence on proposed client deals as required
  • Assist the TMT banking team with establishing and/or enhancing internal policies and guidelines to support developments within the digital infrastructure sector
  • Execute operational duties related to the business origination process and deal execution under GRM direction (covenant checks, loan documentation checks, troubleshooting, transaction follow-through, market research, internal/external communications)
  • Coordinate with overseas branches, product offices, and planning teams
  • Prepare value-added information for marketing materials and customer research

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Corporate and Investment Banking experience with 1–3 years
  • Credit experience, ideally with money-center bank or formal credit training or equivalent
  • Experience conducting valuation analyses (DCF, trading and transaction comps)
  • Strong business and interpersonal skills
  • Marketing experience preferred
  • Financial modeling skills and proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Credit training preferred

Compensation & Benefits

The typical base pay range for this role is $100,000 – $110,000, depending on knowledge, skills, experience, and location. The role may be eligible for discretionary performance-based bonuses or incentive compensation.
