What you’ll do
- Join a dedicated deal team and collaborate with banking teams globally to help solve client needs across corporates, private equity firms, and financial institutions.
- Experience different areas of banking by being placed in Strategic Advisory, Corporate Finance, or Financing Solutions based on interests and business needs.
- Gain exposure to live deals and contribute to supporting work that enables transactions.
- Build understanding of financial statements by reading balance sheets, spotting anomalies, and calculating key ratios.
- Help create client materials, including market research, investment memos, management presentations, and pitchbooks.
- Explore how financial models are used to value businesses, analyze transactions, and assess financing options (e.g., DCF, leveraged buyouts).
- Conduct research and credit analysis to track market developments and company performance, contributing to internal insights and client-facing materials.
- Develop your technical toolkit by sharpening Excel and PowerPoint skills and delivering polished, client-ready presentations.
The program begins with a week of dedicated training led by external experts. By the end, you’ll have a clearer understanding of HSBC and investment banking and potential opportunities on our graduate programme.
Additional information
- The Company will award a stipend of $2,000 to help offset housing costs during the internship.
- You will be eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) plan.
Salary
HSBC targets a fixed pay range of $52.88 per hour for this role.
Eligibility criteria
- Available to work full time for 10 weeks starting in June 2026
- You will graduate with an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in or before June 2027
- Obtained, or expected to achieve, a 3.2 Cumulative GPA or overseas equivalent
- Fluent in English
- Legally permitted to work in the USA and will not require visa sponsorship in the US now or in the future, including OPT and F-1 visa
