Asset Management invests on behalf of HSBC’s worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions. It connects our clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices.

Role: Investment Specialist – Investments – Internship

Location: Hong Kong SAR

Area: Sales and Investments | International Wealth & Premier Banking

Programme: Internship Programme

Start date: June 2026 | Duration: 10 weeks

What you’ll do

  • From day one, be hands-on in the world of investments, building technical and professional skills.
  • Develop analysis and coding skills.
  • Learn about investment research, portfolio construction and management.
  • Gain an understanding of asset classes, HSBC products, and hedge funds.
  • Build confidence in engaging with others at all levels, while collaborating with your team to deliver on client needs and business objectives.
  • Research and present investment opportunities, market trends, and industry insights.
  • Manage your own workload while contributing to team goals.
  • Develop creative solutions when challenges arise.

What you’ll learn

  • A one-week structured training programme covering technical and behavioural skills to help you hit the ground running.
  • Continuous on-the-job training with real projects and live client exposure.
  • Insight into how investment decisions are made and the role research plays in delivering results.

Eligibility

  • Available to work full time for 10 weeks commencing June 2026.
  • Obtained, or expected to achieve, a GPA of at least 4.0 / 5.0 or 3.2 / 4.0 (as appears on official university transcript or degree certificate), or overseas equivalent.
  • Expected to graduate between November 2026 and July 2027.
  • Fluent in English.
