About the Opportunity

Contentful is seeking top candidates to join our global team of Business Development Reps, with a focus on the UKI customer base. This is a speculative job description and an immediate opening may not be available. The Business Development Representative for the UKI region is an early touchpoint for our customers and prospects. The role requires an organized and motivated individual who understands how Contentful can drive digital transformation and best-in-class customer experiences. You will engage with customers at all levels across various industries, work closely with assigned Regional Sales Executives and supporting teams to hunt new business, and gain experience in tech sales. This position is ideal for someone looking to transition into tech sales or start a career in sales.

The opportunity includes participating in Contentful's training program, designed to develop highly skilled professionals through a multi-step learning and skill development track with hands-on training to scale up capabilities.

Please note this is an onsite role. Our office is located in Central London.

What to expect?

  • Focus on lead generation within the UKI market
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of customers, industry, and Contentful’s solution offerings
  • Proactively engage with and reach out to new prospects
  • Lead generation activities including strategic research on LinkedIn and other hunting tools, outbound prospecting, calling, emailing, and social outreach
  • Collaborate with assigned Account Executives, handing off qualified prospects
  • Successfully reach pipeline targets on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Build relationships with key decision-makers across multiple industries

What do you need to be successful?

  • Minimum 6–9 months outbound BDR experience
  • Full written and oral fluency in English
  • College or university degree
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand customer needs, objectives, and challenges
  • Ability to proactively qualify customer needs
  • Ability to articulate the business opportunity to the sales team by understanding the prospect’s use case and how Contentful fits into their goals
  • Ability to build rapport with prospects, colleagues, and other stakeholders
  • Self-starter who proactively moves conversations forward
  • Willingness to travel (up to 10%)
  • Ability to follow processes, update systems diligently, and suggest improvements where needed
  • Detail-oriented and data-driven
  • Technical understanding and a keen interest in technology
  • Customer-first mindset, focusing on mutual success
