At Contentful, we are always seeking top candidates to join our global team of Business Development Reps. We are particularly interested in individuals who want to pursue a career in sales and can work with our French customer base at a fluent French level.

This position is one of the first touchpoints our French customers and prospects have with the Contentful brand. It requires an organized and motivated individual to understand how Contentful can help organizations drive digital transformation and deliver best-in-class customer experiences. As a Business Development Representative for the French region, you will interact with customers at all levels across various industries and work closely with assigned Regional Sales Executives and supporting teams to hunt new business. If you are interested in transitioning into tech sales or starting your career in sales, this role provides a solid foundation to learn essential skills for success.
Part of this opportunity includes attending Contentful's training program focused on developing highly skilled professionals. This is a multi-step learning program with hands-on training to help you scale up your skills.
Please note this is an onsite role. Our office is located in central London.
What to expect
- Focus on lead generation within the French market
- Gain in-depth knowledge of customers, industries, and Contentful’s solution offerings
- Proactively engage with and reach out to new prospects
- Lead generation activities, including strategic research on LinkedIn and other hunting tools, outbound prospecting, calling, emailing, and social outreach
- Collaborate with assigned Account Executives, handing off qualified prospects
- Achieve pipeline targets on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Build relationships with key decision-makers across multiple industries
What you need to be successful
- Minimum 6–9 months outbound BDR experience
- Full written and oral fluency in French and English
- College/university degree
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Ability to understand the customer’s needs, objectives, and challenges
- Ability to proactively qualify customer needs
- Ability to understand the business opportunity and articulate it to the sales team by understanding the prospect’s use case and requirements and how Contentful fits into the customer’s goals
- Ability to build rapport with prospects, colleagues, and other stakeholders
- Self-starter who takes initiative to move conversations forward
- Willingness to travel up to 10%
- Ability to follow established processes, update relevant systems diligently, and suggest improvements where required
- Detail-oriented and data-driven
- Technical understanding and keen interest in technology
- Customer-first mindset, where both the customer and the company win by helping customers succeed
